Use Your Dental Benefits Before It’s Too Late!

We hope you had a wonderful summer! As we approach the end of the year, we wanted to share a tip that can help you take full advantage of any dental insurance benefits you may have. Whether you are paying for dental care through a benefits plan or using an FSA, your current plans will most likely run out on December 31. Do not let your hard-earned dental dollars go to waste.

2021 will soon be coming to a close, and so will your dental benefits for the year. We would like to remind you to schedule your cleaning, exam, and any other necessary dental procedures as soon as possible to fully utilize your 2021 dental insurance benefits. These benefits typically expire on December 31st. Here are some important reasons to consider utilizing your dental insurance coverage before the year wraps up: Dental Problems Can Worsen

  • Prevention is better than cure both for your health as well as your pocketbook. Most plans typically pay 100% for preventive visits, so if you have not had one yet, this may be a suitable time to schedule one.

  • By delaying dental treatment, you are risking more extensive and expensive treatment down the road. What may be a simple cavity now, could turn into a root canal later. Very often, when dental issues are ignored and left to develop, they end up becoming much worse than whatever the original issue was.

Yearly Maximum The yearly maximum is the most money that the dental insurance plan will pay for your dental work within one full year. This amount varies by insurance company, but the average tends to be around $1,000 per year, per person. The yearly maximum usually renews every year (on January 1 if your plan is on a calendar year). If you have unused benefits, these will not rollover, so you should utilize all the benefits while they are still active.

Tips for Making the Most of Your Plan The key with this type of coverage is to take advantage of any benefits before they expire for the year. Start thinking about using your coverage early. During a dental appointment that is over the summer or in the fall, talk to your dentist about what your dental needs are and what treatment you might need before the end of the year. Make any upcoming appointments early so you can take care of them before the holidays. Once you have determined what your dental needs are with your Dentist, work with our office staff to understand remaining coverages. If you need, our office will look into this information for you. You can also call your plan using the 800-telephone number on your dental insurance identification card or go to dental insurance website for information. Here at Dentistry@521 we want to ensure that all our patients are always on the right dental track to sustain Oral Health.

Feel free to call us or request an appointment via Appointment request form page to ensure you are seen and treatment is completed before the remainder of your insurance benefits run out. We look forward to hearing from you soon! Team at Dentistry@521
